When scrolling on social media, you will never see what it took for that person to get where they are now. You may not know the prayers that they prayed during their dark room process or even in the current season that they are in. The saying is that "a picture tells a thousand words," however there is much more to the picture that we tend not to see.
Cops were called, scratches and bruises were left. All the while I was hiding this from my family. I was living with this man when I wasn't away at school. I had given up all hope that I was deserving of anything but what I had in that dysfunctional relationship.

As women, when we take on our husbands name it signifies to the rest of the world that we are no longer two separate people, but we have now come together as one body.
Sometimes we get so deep into our hole that we believe there is nothing that can get us out, we will never be able to show our faces again, and even when we return we say to ourselves that we are no longer worthy to be called a son or daughter of the Most High King. As the body of Christ we cannot be so caught up on self that we forget where it is we come from and where we have been. We cannot forget that we too were in the dirt with the swine and tried to eat of the same husks as them. We too had to return home to the Father in our shame and in our guilt and humble ourselves enough to say, "Father forgive me."
