Reflections Of God

Thank you for taking the time to read my first blog post. This subject has been very heavy in my heart as well as something that I have dealt with my entire life. I hope you would allow me to be vulnerable with you all for a moment.

Since I can remember I have always been a Christian, but since attending Valor Christian College the Lord has shown me so much more about what it means to be saved or what it means to be a lover of God. In my Old Testament History class we have learned that we are reflections of God. I mean it makes perfect sense. The word says in Genesis 1:27:

So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.

We were created to look like God, we were created to be Holy as He is Holy as it says is 1 Peter 1:16.

In my walk with God I typically looked to people to tell me how I should live. I believed that I needed to share the same convictions that they had. I looked at other people as an example of what I should look like as a Christian instead of looking at the perfect example which was Christ.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God as beloved children. Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself for us as a fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God.

Being a reflection of God goes even deeper than being an imitator of Christ. In order to be a reflection of God, it means you have to know Him. So how do you get to know Him? Study His word. Meditate on His word day and night. Find scriptures that explain to you who God is. We can say all day that He is a good Father, but we have to know that for ourselves. We have to develop and intimate relationship with God, but we can only do that when we take the time to get to know Him, when we take the time out of our day to spend with Him. I hear so many Christians who say,  “I want to know God!” How bad do you really desire to know Him. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

It is my prayer that you will begin to seek God in your life like never before. He is waiting on you to seek Him and this scripture is basically saying, “Here I am, I am just waiting for you to seek me. I have always been available to you!”

Matthew 7:7

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

I pray you will become filled with the Word of God, that you would know Him more intimately, and you will truly know what it means to be a reflection of God.

Love you all!!!

XOXO Ebony
