Happy New Year everyone!!! It’s been a while since I have written. I want to start off by apologizing. I haven’t been writing because of something simple that I really want to hit on today. The reason I have been so handicapped is because of my “I Am..” The statement I am crippled me for over a month. Each Wednesday I woke up in the state of:
I Am…A Sinner
I Am… Unqualified
I Am, I Am, and the list goes on. I left school this past semester in a very broken place that I did not want to acknowledge. I was always the one trying to tell people to shift their perspective, but now I was in a place where I needed to do the same. I was plagued by these identifiers to the point where I wouldn’t even get up to go to church and used homework as an excuse.
Currently I’m reading a book by Pastor Steven Furtick that is titled Unqualified. I was very fascinated the moment I picked up this book. Maybe you are like me and you feel that your weakness, the sin that so easily besets you, your I Am.. has left you in a state where you feel that you will never be able to succeed in this Christian walk. Let me let you in on a secret. This is a secret that shatters walls, but you must be careful to not let it turn into an excuse for your weaknesses and for sin. Rome was not built in a day and neither is your salvation.
As humans we have been conditioned to believe that our weaknesses that eventually become our I Am… are what actually defines us. One of the things I learned in school is that salvation is a continual ongoing process. For some people they are instantly delivered from the thing that entangles them, but for some God will allow you to go through the process for longer than a day for His purpose. Let me tell you that the idea of I Am… is plaguing this generation in a way that it has never done before. As we creep closer and closer to the last days, the last thing the enemy wants is for us to discover our true identity. The last thing he wants is for us to discover that we were created in the very image of THE GREAT I AM. Revelation 1:8 says, “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,’ says the Lord, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.'”
This means nothing more than God is EVERYTHING. In a whole He is EXISTENCE. Alpha and Omega are directly interchangeable with Beginning and the End. He will always be who He is.
What is leaving your mouth when you make the confession of I Am…?
I Am… is a declaration over yourself. I Am… is a proclamation. What your declare and proclaim over yourself is what you eventually become. I proclaimed some things over myself for over a month until I became them. This blog post for me was a push from my weakness because I even messed up today. But I’ve got good news for you:
It’s 2018 ya’ll!!! It’s a brand new year. Renew your mind daily. With everything that happened in 2017 I want you to remember Romans 8:1, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
I’ve started singing this verse from Travis Greene’s song You Keep Me: “I’ve sinned. Fell short of your Glory. Messed up. Ain’t proud of it, but your love is more than enough. You keep on keeping me.“
I love you all so much and I deeply apologize for my absence. I just pray over you right now that in this new season God will continue to keep you and grow you. No weapon formed against you will prosper.
P.S. if you are on Facebook and looking for encouragement this month and accountability I recommend joining the 2018 Pinky Promise Journal Challenge here.
Also my Big Cartel site needs a lot of love right now. I haven’t been posting about it as much as I need to but please check out the signature bracelets and shirts!
